I know I’m a little late posting this, but I still wanted to get this out. Recently, a published author with whom I was acquainted on The Chronicles Network, Iain M. Banks, dies at the age of 59. I had never met him in person, but I’d say I conversed with him a little sometimes. He was one of those authors on the forums who was always helpful and was close friends with quite a few Chronicles members (including Ian Whates, whose short story “Knowing How to Look” appears in the first issue of Tower of Light). Many–family, friends, and fans–will miss him.
Even the very popular author Neil Gaiman knew him very well. You can read more about it here in The Guardian‘s article “Iain Banks dies aged 59.”
Anyone interested in his books can find plenty of them on Amazon.
